MCS Umbrella for BUS

Our Heat Pump Go MCS umbrella service is available for three types of customer installations.

  1. MCS & Boiler Upgrade Scheme.England & Wales only
    1. Domestic customers contracting a builder for a new house, renovation or conversion that they will own and keep.
    2. Existing homeowners and landlords, replacing a fossil fuel boiler or direct electric heating.
  2. MCS and Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan SchemeScotland only
    1. Domestic customers where the property is their primary private residence and replacing a fossil fuel boiler or direct electric heating.
  3. MCS Only
    1. Developers building new homes to sell.
    2. Light commercial projects up to a maximum 75kW.

The Heat Pump Go Service

A single end-to-end process, with grant steps highlighted where applicable.

  1. Enquiry

    • Contact the sales team to discuss your project.

  2. Download our App

    • Register on the app submitting qualifications and insurance details.
    • We will publish your project on the app for you to progress.

  3. Heat Loss Calculation

    • Send us plans or complete our simple survey form for existing homes. We handle the room-by-room heat loss calculation so you can quote for the right kit.

  4. Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan

    Grant
    • Your customer submits a direct application for approval to Home Energy Scotland with your itemised quote including our MCS service and registration number.

  5. Place your order with us

    • As soon as you have paid, the service team provides support during your installation onsite, via video call or telephone depending on your level of service and verification for skills and competency to meet scheme rules.

  6. Pre-Installation on App

    • MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE INSTALLATION
    • Equipment Quote: Upload copies to confirm they meet the heat loss. Do not order anything until you know it is right.
    • MCS Letter: Confirm your end customer details so we can send them our MCS letter for them to sign and return. This is important to ensure the homeowner is fully engaged with the service and authorises us to work together to complete the installation to scheme standards.
    • MCS 020 Sound Power Calculation: Take photos and site detail so we can confirm "permitted development" for planning.
    • DNO Approval: Take photos and site detail so we can submit the DNO Approval for you to connect the heat pump to the electricity supply.

  7. Boiler Upgrade Scheme Application

    Grant
    • We make the Boiler Upgrade Scheme application for you and your customer. (T&C's apply)

  8. Complete your installation

    • Complete the installation and commissioning on site.

  9. Pre-MCS Commissioning

    • Use the app to upload site photos and notes of the installed heat pump and emitters for us to review.
    • You will be advised of any outstanding works so you can complete these whilst you are on site to meet scheme standards – we will call, video or visit depending on the level of service you need.

  10. MCS Certification

    • When installation standards have been achieved and verified by one of our commissioning engineers, we will register the installation with MCS to show your installation has met the delivered quality required for certification.
    • Handover pack will be released to the homeowner to complete the service.
